The Bariatric Surgical Program of the Center for Weight Management at Leonard Morse Hospital is well under way. We established this program for our patients for 3 reasons:

To improve their health, improve their quality of life and lengthen their lives.

Gastric bypasses and laproscopic band procedures are being performed with full confidence at Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. Comprehensive educational and sensitivity training is provided to all clinicians that participate in the care of our patients. Also, prior to performing these operations there is a multidisciplinary team evaluation and plan established for the patient making sure they meet the criteria, and understand that the benefits of surgery and the risks of their present state of health. The hospital has developed significant resources to help ensure the success of this program. New OR instruments and equipment were purchased and we have also established a new fulltime position of Program Director to provide seamless care for our bariatric patients. Patients are required to pay directly anywhere from $400 to almost $1000 to other programs throughout Boston. It should be noted that our program does not charge an “out of pocket expense.”
